Toni's Visit to the SF Chinese Celebration Street Fair & North Beach

Saturday was another beautiful day in the Bay Area and I headed over to San Francisco to visit the Chinese New Years Celebration Street Fair.  I traveled to the city on Bart and got off at the Powell Street station.  I walked up Powell Street toward Union Square and then up to Grant Avenue, the main drag of China Town.  Grant Avenue was blocked off to cars and there were many vendors and activities, fire crackers exploding and loads and loads of visitors.  This is one of the city's main tourist centers, but yesterday was also a holiday for the locals.  I so enjoyed photographing this amazing event.

I walked up Grant Avenue through the street fair and crossed Broadway to North Beach to have lunch and visit a favorite hat shop of mine.  To my happy surprise, I found a vintage clothing store - Old Vogue.  I had a great time taking photos of the store and visiting with sales rep Maria.  It is an amazing vintage store and the only one on Grant Avenue in North Beach.  Across the street, I  visited M Clothing And Accessories owned by Mariana who designs everything in the store.  Her clothes are whimsical and very original.  Definitely worth checking out the next time you visit North Beach.  This area has many excellent Italian restaurants and cafes.  Enjoy the trip.  Cheers! Toni
