First Saturday Sale at 5th ave marina (Oakland, CA)

Spring is here in the Bay Area with our foggy days and breaking sun.  I thought what a perfect Saturday to return to Janay Rose's flea market at 5th ave marina.  It is not only a fun flea market with gorgeous vintage clothes and original designs, but it is also the last bastion for artists in Oakland who's live-work spaces will soon be displaced by condo projects.  The 5th ave marina neighborhood also has a community art gallery.

It was a lovely day to shop and be at the 5th ave marina again.  Janey welcomed me back and showed me some of her new creations.    I also visited with Claudia, owner of All Things Vintage.  It was her first time at the flea market and she was enjoying combing through the racks.  I plan to visit her store next weekend, so looking forward to seeing she and Lucy again.  They are going on a road trip in July cross country to visit vintage stores and invest in some gems for their shop.  They may do a blog about the trip, so look for that.

Also at the flea market was my fellow volunteer and friend from Strings, Brian.  He was visiting a friend at the marina and came down to check out the flea market, which is such a gathering place.  Check it out for yourselves and have a great time too!!  Enjoy, Toni
